Well, we just got back from our 4th of July vacation down to Maryland to visit Zoe and Zach's GREAT-grandparents! It was a lot of fun, despite the near-100 degree temperatures! Poor Zach, with 4 teeth coming in, was not enjoying the heat too much and kept my nerves pretty frazzled the whole time with grunting and crying and screaming and refusing to eat. Luckily there were plenty of family members to pass him around to!
Zoe was extremely excited to see Granny and Gramps and Aunt Ally and Uncle Dave, but was possibly a BIT more excited over the big
"cool" ("pool" to those of us who speak adult English). She was also wired beyond hope on cake and ice cream. When we got back to the hotel every night it took us well over an hour to get her to calm down and go to sleep. And when Zoe is wound up, she makes sure that Zachary gets wound up, too. So every night the clock would read 10pm and we would have two kids on the bed bouncing and screaming and giggling.Aunt Ally - super shopper - found the Independence Day dress I wanted for Zoe. She strutted her stuff like a supermodel, as usual.
We drove well over an hour to get the so-called "best Maryland crabcakes," and they were! On the way there, Gramps and Zach took a little snooze. Kind of looks like a picture I took last summer!

Great-Granny and Great-Gramps seemed so happy to have the kids around. It was always such a sweet sight to see Zoe give them hugs and kisses and Zach give them his 5-tooth grin!
